Case Study: CREDO Wireless Fights for Ethics Reform

CREDO Wireless (formerly Working Assets) used our mConnect services to mobilize their supporters for a series of congressional call-in campaigns. Among supporters recruited specifically for these call-in campaigns, call-in rates were 28.8% for the first campaign, 31.4% for the second, and 18.3% for the third. These call-in rates—standard for our services—far outpace anything generated by any other medium or technology. A step-by-step of the campaign:

  1. Working Assets sent out an alert to their email list
  2. Email list members and others from around the web opted in with a web-form that connected directly to the mCommons platform
  3. As action was needed, Working Assets would send out text message alerts with a telephone number embedded in the message. Anyone who clicked, dialed, or replied call was connected to our mConnect servers.
  4. Once connected to our servers, they heard audio talking points that briefed them about the specific issues about to be brought up on the floor of Congress.
  5. After listening to the talking points or skipping through them, they were connected to the Congressional switchboard prepared to voice their support and let their legislators know about it.

Case Study: John Edwards ‘08 Mobile Fundraising

The Edwards campaign has used the mCommons platform and mConnect for everything from general opt-ins on the campaign trail to time sensitive initiatives to rapid media response. One of the campaigns most innovative uses of mConnect was in the first ever mobile fundraising campaign during a presidential campaign race. The Edwards campaign sent out a text message to their mobile list asking them to connect and hear a special message from John Edwards. Once they were connected, Edwards spoke about the status of the campaign and outlined his plan for the campaign and his need to raise more money. People could patch through at any time and be directly connected to the Edwards fundraising hotline.
